Shopping list for HK! need to save to splurge…

All from the latest F/W ‘09 season – Dior, Chanel, Prada, Fendi and Chloe. Just to complete my collections – need a Chanel, Prada and a Chloe. Might get a Marc wallet if possible..woohoo.. it’s all about me.
2.55
Top 3 handbags that I would like to get my hands on (courtersy of handbag.com):
1 – Chanel 2.55

If you like to think of yourself as a bit of a bag expert, then you really need to know about this bag. The 2.55 from Chanel was first introduced in February 1955 (hence the 2.55) by the ever practical Coco Chanel, who wanted a hands-free bag with a shoulder strap.
To celebrate its 60th birthday, Chanel re introduced the 2.55 last year with a special stamp inside. This year it’s available as the ‘Classic’ (without the stamp) and will set you back £860. But you can tell your bank manager that this bag is collectable and an investment for your future. In fact, this bag is your pension, so you’d be mad not to buy it.
2 -Hermes Birkin Bag
The No 1 ‘it bag’ of all time, this is the holy grail of all handbags. Its iconic status means that the waiting list for this bag is currently so long that it has been closed. So no need to beat yourself up about the fact that you can’t afford one because you couldn’t get one anyway. If you are ever lucky enough to become a member of the Birkin club, you’ll be safe in the knowledge that this bag will never date and will still look cool in 40 years’ time when you pass it on to your granddaughter.
3 – Gaucho by Dior
Popularised by celebrities like Paris Hilton, the Gaucho is the bag on every fashion wannabee’s wish list. Why this style is so popular we cannot fathom, but promo girls and Russian pop stars seem to be falling over themselves to part with a grand for it.

Dior Airflash Foundation – Mist Makeup
Mist Makeup. The spray foundation that revolutionizes the way to make up your face: The whisper-like beauty routine of a spray for an incredible feeling of freshness – An extraordinary fine texture thanks to a unique diffusion technology. Unfortunately, they have discontinued selling this product in Asia! Need to stock up from London or Europe.
And it’s so cheap and easy to use!

Cotton Blazer
Went shopping like crazy in a month.. got 2 pairs of trousers – black straight leg and metallic wool/silk officewear from Massimo Dutti, a black striped skirt from Zara, high-waisted skirt from Ben Sherman, 3 shirts from Ben Sherman – the shirt that fits me perfectly! (green chancery lane, white tux and floral city life), 1 patent leather blue heels (peep-toe) from Vincci +, 1 red patent leather heels (open-toe) from Charles and Keith, 1 Ipanema flip-flops by Gisele Bundchen (my favourite model) but the best purchase is my cotton blazer from Zara. It’s perfect – casual/smart top that goes with anything. And the material is perfect for this weather. In London I would have purchased at least an additional item to the wardrobe a week. Since I haven’t been shopping since I came back, I guess that this 11 items; sort of make up for my last 11 weeks! I remember the last time I shopped was on my birthday. The new look that is so me…

The grey cotton blazer on the far left and a skirt with the exact same material to the tube dress is in my wardrobe.

Below is the look that I love – from Chloe but it’s Tweed hence not suitable for the climate.
Objectivism
I’ve never heard about this author – Ayn Rand – until it was suggested by Tun M’s PA.
She is a Russian-born American writer and one of her most successful book which turned into a movie is Fountainhead. Her book is mostly centred to a philosophy called “Objectivism” because it is based on the premise that reality is an objective absolute. One must perceive and understand reality to survive. One’s highest value should be one’s ability to reason. This also manifested in the way Rand viewed her own life, not through feelings but through her interest in ideas and her thinking.
I think it is mainly influenced by her environment and the time she was brought into this world. She witnessed the Russian Revolution and the social upheaval, during which his father found work only in a Soviet store. Hence, why I feel that her emotional side is “damaged”.
Anyway, Fountainhead at the first instance your mind would say – THICK (> 700 pages!). The book is about three people: a Modern Architect who loves his work more than money or himself, his friend who has not the necessary talent but, at first, knows how to give public what they want; and a newspaper columnist who perhaps understands everything that is going on around, but uses his knowledge as he wishes, which is not necessarily the best decision. The Fountainhead argues that the worst kind of people is the “second-handers”, people who are ruling and supporting our society, sacrificing their inner self-respect for the sake of their outer ego. Overall, this work is terrific, it can be read both as philosophically challenging novel and serious but entertaining book. And it is great in both.
It even make me want to see if “Howard Roak” exists in this modern world.
Dubrovnik
A place in Croatia that I’ve always wanted to go but never got the chance to before I returned to Malaysia. To me from the looks of it, it has amazing views and the island is just breathtaking. I’ve always thought that the Greek islands are beautiful with their white facade overlooking the sea. But Dubrovnik to me is another under-rated place which is full of surprises. Just like my discovery of Poland – which is now one of my top favourite places visited.

The closest I’ve been to is a restaurant discovered by my dad in Solaris, Mont Kiara. It’s not too expensive like the hotel with much better taste. Try the Peka although you need to pre-order them as they need to cook the meat for a good 3 hours!
Elegance and understated sophistication underline the Continental nature of Dubrovnik and its patron.
Jinjerup
My old school friend actually put her talent into something marketable and now she has a side-business that is doing so well and sold all around the world. She sells prints! You can buy her prints and get it printed on anything via cafepress.com. The patterns are so her as that was what she does best and enjoys. Well done! Hope you don’t mind that I put it up here.
